Why do I need my own mask?

Scuba Pattaya Mask Shop

A good quality dive mask is often the first item of equipment that a scuba diver buys. Dive masks come in a variety of shapes and styles, and it’s best to choose one that fits correctly and has a shape that lets you easily read your air gauge. Some of the top range masks also have side windows that allow you to easily see to each side and a little bit behind you.

Comfort

By having your own mask, you can be sure that it fits, has the right style for you and hasn’t been used by a million other divers beforehand. Although a professional dive company will take good care to thoroughly clean rental masks, you might not want to use one that has been cleared by so many people before you. Our company disinfects masks after use but you never know what might lurk inside your holiday rental mask in another part of the world.

Other activities

You can also use your dive mask for snorkelling or ocean swimming if you don’t feel like diving. Many people use them when on a budget holiday somewhere that has a beautiful coral reef.  A good quality snorkel will help you to breathe easily at the surface and is also useful when diving in choppy wave conditions. You don’t need to have an exact match to your mask, but many divers prefer to have similar colours for stylistic reasons. Renting snorkelling gear can be complicated when rental shops ask for expensive deposits, sometimes as much as the cost of a new mask, in case you lose the equipment.

Buy it and use it on the same day.

So, ask your instructor to show you some masks and snorkels next time you come to the shop and we’ll try a few out. We have a lot of variety and you’ll be able to get a better idea of what you really want. You can even use your new mask on the same day’s diving.

We have a large selection of diving available with quick delivery times. Please have a look!
