PADI Instructor Internship Program

The IDC stands for Instructor Development Course, you are now required by PADI to complete one before attending an IE Instructor Examination. So to put it simply you cannot be an Instructor without having completed an IDC.

The IDC is what teaches you everything you will need to know about becoming a PADI professional and the skills required to pass your Instructor Exams, both physical and paper based, plus rounds up all your physical dive skills to that of what is expected of someone who is now a teacher of scuba diving.

To complete an IDC successfully, a PADI Course Director will need to sign you off and agree that you are ready to attend an IE. If you do not meet the standards of an instructor candidate after your IDC you may be asked not to attend the IE.

No Limit Dive Center offers several PADI instructor Internship Packages. No matter what your dive level is, we have a package that suits you.

The first part is the PADI Assistant Instructor Course which takes 5 days. The second part is the PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (PADI OWSI) which takes 8 days.

PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors are the most in demand dive professionals in the world. This is because they’ve completed the world’s most progressive and popular scuba diving instructor course, the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC).

You earn a PADI Diving Instructor course rating through hard work, commitment and dedication.

You are rewarded with a job that lets you share incredible underwater adventures with others – transforming their lives for the better and enriching your own.

The PADI Diving Instructor Course Thailand (IDC) is made up of two parts – the PADI Assistant Instructor (AI) course and the PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) program.

Most dive professionals complete the entire IDC and go on to attend an PADI Instructor Examination (IE), which is the final step to earn a PADI Instructor certification.

Dive professionals who hold an instructor rating with another diver training organisation are eligible to enrol directly onto the OWSI program.

This program recognises prior instructor training and provides a path to become a PADI Instructor.

A PADI Divemaster who has been a certified diver for six months, may enrol in the PADI Diving Instructor Development Course.

You also need:

  • At least 60 logged dives to start the IDC and 100 dives to attend an IE.
  • Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) training within the past 24 months.
  • A medical statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months.
  • You will also need to become an Emergency First Response Instructor which is included on our PADI Diving Instructor Development Course.

As a 5 Star PADI IDC Centre, candidates completing the PADI IDC with No Limit Dive Center are permitted to enter the IE with less than 100 logged dives. PADI will process teaching status once the 100th dive has been logged.

Our 14-day program will teach you how to conduct all PADI core courses. You’ll be able to organize and present information as well as conduct skill development sessions and open water training dives.

You will become a better public speaker, develop first class underwater demonstration skills and learn how to supervise and control student divers whilst ensuring diver safety.

We will teach you how to anticipate and solve common problems that occur when training divers, as well as correct positioning so you are always close to respond.

Our PADI Instructor Development Course will give you plenty of practice, in a role playing environment.

10 reasons to do PADI Instructor Internship in Pattaya.

Choosing where to do your PADI Instructor Internship is important. With dive sites at the Pattaya Near islands, Far islands and Samaesan, Pattaya offers many environments to explore, with vibrant coral reefs, fascinating artificial reefs and several shipwrecks swarming with fish and invertebrates.

Training
Due to the numerous tourists visiting Pattaya year round, divers take a range of courses from discover scuba diving up to the instructor development course. This means that you’ll have exposure to many different students of different levels taught by different instructors.

Convenience
With its location only 2 hours from Bangkok by car, Pattaya is so easily accessible that many divemaster trainees arrive here in the morning and return in the evening. Accommodation is cheap so staying overnight is also popular.

Facilities
Pattaya is a seaside resort city so you can find all the facilities of any large town. With hospitals, schools, cinemas, shopping malls, and tourism activities from ziplining in the jungle to skydiving at the airport, its facilities are far beyond what a remote island can offer.

Tranquility
Although Pattaya is quite busy, it’s cheap and easy to take a ferry ride to Koh Larn and relax on the beaches or snorkel on the reefs. There are also peaceful beaches along the coast nearby, notably Jomtien, Dong Tan, and Baan Amphur. Pratamnak mountain between Pattaya and Jomtien has parks and temples to visit. There are also botanical gardens and a local aquarium nearby.

Safety
With hospitals equipped with recompression chambers in easy reach of Pattaya and Samaesan dive sites, expert medical care is available in the unlikely event of sickness or injury. Our instructors are highly experienced and the presence of overhead traffic such as jetskis means that you’ll receive important training in how to avoid them while underwater.

Fun
PADI DiveMaster Internship in Pattaya is legendary for being a lot of fun on and off the boat! With our friendly staff and 24 hour nightlife you can be sure of having the time of your life while training here. There are bowling alleys, dance clubs, fitness centres, live music venues, sailing activities, beach bars and more restaurants than you can imagine selling delicious Asian and Western food.

Weather
The fresh sea breeze rushing through Pattaya’s streets and  markets means that the air is clear unlike other cities such as Bangkok or Chiang Mai. Due to its position at a relatively high latitude, the sun isn’t as strong as further south, making it cooler with less chance of sunburn.

Water conditions
Pattaya is in the Bay of Bangkok, and the four main rivers to the north encourage the growth of plankton in the water. This means that visibility usually ranges from 6 to 10 metres, although silt-outs and 15 metre vis are also possible. Currents range from slack to ripping, so PADI DiveMaster Internship in Pattaya makes you a stronger, more experienced divemaster.

Equipment
Our shop stocks reliable dive equipment which we regularly service. We can also provide expert advice on what kind of equipment you should buy, and service it as necessary. With quick access to equipment stores in Bangkok, you can also place an order and it will arrive at the shop within days.
