Try Scuba Diving in Pattaya - FAQ
New to diving? You’re not alone. Here are the most common beginner questions—answered by our certified instructors.
Do I need to know how to swim to try scuba diving?
No swimming skills required. You’ll dive in calm, shallow water under constant instructor supervision. Our Try Scuba Diving program is designed for beginners—even if it’s your first time in the ocean.
What kind of fish and marine life will I see on my Discover Scuba Diving?
On our beginner-friendly dives around Pattaya & Samae San you’re very likely to see colourful reef fish (e.g. butterflyfish, angelfish, bannerfish, parrotfish, clownfish etc.), vibrant coral gardens, and often marine lifes like blue-spotted stingrays and sea turtles.
You may also be lucky enough to spot hidden creatures such as nudibranchs, moray eels or even small reef sharks — while these are less common on first dives, our experienced guides will keep an eye out for them.
Is scuba diving in Pattaya safe for beginners?
Absolutely. Pattaya offers warm, calm conditions perfect for first-time divers. Our instructors follow strict PADI safety standards, with small group sizes and personal guidance at every step.
What is included in the Try Scuba Diving experience?
Everything—scuba gear, wetsuit, boat trip, instructor, lunch, fruit, and hotel pickup. You just bring swimwear, a towel, and your sense of adventure.
How deep do we go on the dive?
Most first dives are 6 to 8 meters deep—shallow enough to feel safe, but deep enough to see coral reefs and fish up close.
Can I take photos or videos during the dive?
Yes! You can bring a waterproof camera or GoPro. We also offer professional dive photography—just ask during booking.
What happens if I panic or feel uncomfortable underwater?
No problem. Your instructor is beside you the whole time. We can pause, resurface, or adjust the plan. You’re always in control.
Is Try Scuba Diving the same as a scuba license?
No, but it’s the perfect first step. After your try dive, you can continue straight into the PADI Open Water Course and become fully certified.
What if I have medical conditions or take medication?
Please inform us before booking. Many conditions are okay for diving, but some require a doctor’s clearance. Safety first, always.
What should I bring with me on the day?
Swimsuit, towel, dry clothes, reef-safe sunscreen, and sunglasses. We handle everything else, from gear to food and logistics.
How long is the Try Scuba experience?
It’s a half-day to full-day experience. Hotel pickup is around 8:00 AM, and you’ll return between 3:30–4:30 PM, depending on the dive site.
